Ellicott City 'Paint It' Awards Ceremony
Awards given to Ellicott City Plein Air painters.
The Ellicott City Paint Awards ceremony was the culmination of a weekend of Plein Air painting in the community.
The French expression en plein air means "in the open air," and is used to describe the act of painting outside.
The awards ceremony was held at the Howard County Center for the Arts, which was also the event's main sponsor.

Scores of local artists' admirers came out to congratulate the participants and winners. Top prizes went to Mark Coates and David Diaz.
Hiu Lai Chang won "Best Depiction of Nature," and Honorable Mentions went out to William David Simmons, Jaye Ayers, Ebarbard Froehlich, Janice Kirsh and Rita Curtis.
