Gymboree Play & Music Open House

  • Where:   Gymboree Play & Music, 6470 Dobbin Rd, Columbia

  • Description:   Winter open house allows participants to come join in a free class including art, music and more.

American Girl Fashion Show Model Search

  • Where:  The Mall in Columbia, 10300 Little Patuxent Pkwy, Columbia
  • When:  Saturday, Jan. 12, 12 p.m.
  • Description:  Baltimore's 2nd annual American Girl Fashion Show, to benefit Cool Kids Campaign and University of Maryland Children's Hospital. Auditions are free and open to all.
  • Cost:  Free


Atholton High School Music Department Pops Concert

  • Where:   Atholton High School, 6520 Freetown Rd, Columbia
  • When: Saturday, Jan. 12, 6:30 p.m.
  • Description:  Dessert, coffee and musical performances.
  • Cost: $5


Peter and the Wolf-National Marionette Theatre

  • Where:  Howard Community College, 10901 Little Patuxent Pky, Columbia
  • When:  Sunday, Jan. 13, 2:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.
  • Description:  The classic tale of Peter and the Wolf, with music by Sergei Prokofiev performed with hand-crafted marionettes.
  • Cost: $10


Talent Show Auditions (Ages 8 -13)

  • Where:  6151 Daylong Ln, Clarksville
  • When:  Saturday, Jan. 12, 8 a.m.
  • Description:  Kids ages 8-13 are welcome to try out for the Starlicious Talent Show.
  • Cost:  Free


Holiday Festival of Trains

  • Where: B&O Railroad Museum: Ellicott City Station, 2711 Maryland Ave, Ellicott City
  • When: Friday, Nov. 23 – Sunday, Jan. 27, 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.
  • Description:  B&O Railroad museum's annual holiday celebration of toy trains and model railroading. New this year is a custom built 360 degree LEGO model train layout created by The Washington D.C. Metropolitan Area LEGO Train Club.
  • Cost: $16 (50% off admission for new, unwrapped toys for donation to Toys for Tots)


US 1 Flea Market

  • Where: US 1 Flea Market, 7540 Washington Blvd, Elkridge
  • When:  Saturday, Jan. 12, 8 a.m.
  • Description:  Indoor-Outdoor flea market includes everything from clothing to fowl.
  • Cost: Free


Infant and Toddlers ~ Play Partners

  • Where: Howard County Library Elkridge Branch, 6540 Washington Blvd, Elkridge
  • When: Saturday, Jan. 12, 10:15 a.m. – 11:15 a.m.
  • Description:  Activities, stories, music and more for infants to age 23 months. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
