State Sen. Allan Kittleman to Launch Campaign for County Executive

The West Friendship Republican announced he will launch his campaign for county executive on his Facebook page.

 

State Senator Allan Kittleman, (R-District 9) posted on his Facebook page he will hold a County Executive Launch Celebration at the home of a Glenwood supporter after a "special announcement" at Clyde's of Columbia on June 11.

Details about the special announcement were not provided in the Facebook post, but it's likely he'll announce his candidacy for Howard County Executive in 2014, due to the planned celebration afterwards.

The event posting for the celebration asks that supporters join him and his family in Glenwood to celebrate "the launch of his County Executive Campaign."

The announcement at Clyde's begins at 4 p.m. at the outdoor pavilion overlooking Lake Kittamaqundi on June 11.

No other candidates have formally announced their intention to run for county executive in 2014, although Courtney Wastson, a Howard County Council member who represents Ellicott City, is widely considered to be preparing to run.

Watson told Explore Howard, "I will be making a decision in the very near future."

Kittleman, 54, has represented Western Howard County as well as a part of Carroll County in the state senate since 2004. Prior to joining the senate, Kittleman served as a Howard County Council member representing District 5 from 1998 to 2004. He was born in Olney and graduated from Atholton High School.
