Why to go:  Experience the wonders of space in the comfort of Robinson Nature Center’s Nature Sphere, a digital planetarium and dome-style movie theater. Join us as we explore our universe-from planets, to constellations, to black holes. This program is for adults and children over the age of 5. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Tickets are $6 and sell out fast. It is recommended you pre-register by calling 410-313-0400 to secure your seat.

Why to go:  HCC’s Arts Collective’s (AC) improv group “What Improv Group?!?!” (W.I.G.) is adding its first off-shoot improv group – FEATURING TEEN ACTORS ages 14-18 – to AC’s upcoming 18th Season!  AC's new teen cast will perform during various W.I.G. shows throughout AC’s 2012-2013 season. Audition appointments required.

Children’s Concert: Concert gates open at 4:00pm. Children’s Concert begins at 4:15pm.

Bowie Baysox Game: Gates open to the public at 5:30pm. Baysox game time is 6:35 p.m. Fireworks are scheduled to follow the game.

Family Campout Event:  Friday, August 3, 2012:  Sleep under the stars at Baysox Stadium. (Pre-registration required http://www.baysoxshop.com for tickets) - $10.00.

Why to go:  Campout, baseball game and firework fun for the entire family, concert especially for the kids!  

A special ticket package is needed for campout and concert.

Why to go:  The Friday Night Swing Dance Club run dances with Great Bands EVERY Friday night in Towson. Our $12 Fee includes a beginning Swing Class at 8:00 to 9:00, a super dance band every Friday Night from 9:00 to Mid-night, and light refreshments.

Our Dances are open to the public to all ages 16 years old and up.

Why to go:  The experience of perpetual, participatory pandemonium that wowed, bewildered and astonished visitors to Baltimore’s Inner Harbor last summer has returned! Now through Labor Day, the Maryland Science Center presents the Summer of EVEN MORE Irresponsible Science.

All new contraptions and experiments like the Chicken Flinger (a real-life Angry Birds!), powerful Can Crusher and flaming, whirling Tornado of Fire have been added to the irresponsible inventory alongside returning favorites like the Super Squirting Sphere of Science and the Toilet Paper Cannon. Maryland Science Center visitors will witness robots operate a Rube Goldberg machine, popping hydrogen balloons into bursts of flame.  

Guests will harness chemistry and physics to create take-home science toys and see what electric contraptions can be assembled from the innards of old televisions. The fashion forward can even design wearable, light-up accessories with circuits and LEDs.

Visitors are warned to keep their eyes open for Pop-Up Science, surprise demonstrations from multitudes of mad scientists demonstrating the powers of lasers, magnetic levitation and other science marvels.

Why to go:  The Howard County Fair is an American tradition of good, wholesome fun including livestock exhibits, carnival rides and games, musical entertainment, educational demonstrations, and an animal petting zoo. The Howard County Fair hosts daily horse shows, pony rides, tractor pulls, and livestock competitions. Popular contests include the Pretty Baby Contest, Talent Show and Cow Milking Contest. 

Pricing: $5 per person, ages 10 and up / Children under 10 years old admitted FREE
$2 for seniors.
