Photos: Historic Flooding in Ellicott City, Catonsville

Several inches of rain forced the evacuation of Ellicott City.

Patch editors and photographers were in downtown Ellicott City when the Patapsco River rose several feet, prompting the evacuation of Ellicott City.

We went down there about 7 pm and you could not tell anything had happened! Amazing. Restaurants open, people walking.

It's so surreal to see our house and car(the red Volkswagen) submerged in the water. We live in Valley Mede (Ellicott City) and lost our home and everything in it on Wednesday.
