Main Street Benches Dedicated to Derailment Victims
At a tearful ceremony, the families of Elizabeth Nass and Rose Mayr dedicated benches to remember them on Ellicott City's Main Street.
Two new benches on Ellicott City's Main Street will serve as a small memorial for a tragic accident.
On Friday afternoon the families of Elizabeth Nass and Rose Mayr, the two Ellicott City teenagers killed last year in the CSX train derailment, gathered at a somber ceremony to dedicate the two benches near the entrance to Tiber Alley.
The benches, which were paid for by the Main Street Business Association and the Rose and Mayr families, are inscribed with the following:

On Saturday morning an estimated 500 to 600 residents, runners and friends will join the Nass and Mayr families for a 2-mile run that is being held to raise funds for memorial scholarships in honor of the young women.
