Midnight at 7 p.m. at Symphony of Lights

Where: Symphony Woods, off Broken Land Parkway in Columbia

The gates open at 5 p.m. for this annual fireworks show that takes place at 7 p.m. inside the Symphony of Lights—the holiday light display set up to benefit Howard County General Hospital. Admission is $20 for an individual, $50 for a group of 4, and includes a walk through the park and entertainment.

New Year's Eve Kids' Party

EcoAdventures - 216 Najoles Road, Millersville

Can't find a babysitter or just looking for something fun for your small children to do while you enjoy New Years' Eve? Take them to EcoAdventures in Millersville, where they're hosting kids ages 5-12 for a New Year's Eve party from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. that includes pizza, games, arts and crafts. The cost is $70 per child.

Ring in the new year with an open bar at Clyde's. The $60 per person event includes a DJ, dance floor, midnight toast and more. The party begins at 9:30 p.m. and runs until 2 a.m.

The Dave Phenicie Band is scheduled to play at this New Year's Eve party, which will have no cover. The band takes the stage at 9 p.m.

New Year's Eve Special Menu at The Ale House

The Ale House Columbia - 6480 Dobbin Center Way, Columbia

The Ale House is offering a special price fix menu for New Year's that will cost $35 per person or $50 with wine or beer pairings. The menu includes items like wild mushroom salad, New York strip steak, bouillabaisse, braised duck breast, and fireball spiced eggnog ice cream.
