Ye Haunted History of Olde Ellicott City Ghost Tour

  • Where:  Howard County Tourism, 8267 Main St., Ellicott City
  • When:  Friday, April 5, 8:30 p.m.
  • Description:  Locals are invited to take a stroll through Ellicott City and learn all about the historic and ghostly activity. Tours are not recommended for children under 6 years old.  Reservations strongly recommended.

Wiley Purkey – The Artist as History A Retrospective Exhibition

  • When:  Saturday, April 6, 1 p.m.
  • Description:  Wiley Purkey has been recording the changes in the Ellicott City Historic District from 1969 to the present, through his numerous drawings and paintings.  The images in this show are chosen from those 44 years of drawings, watercolors, oil paintings and prints.

Greyhound Pets of America-Maryland Meet and Greet

Leprechaun 8K Charity Run

  • Where:  12290 Folly Quarter Rd, Ellicott City
  • When:  Saturday, April 6, 8 a.m.
  • Description:  The Leprechaun 8K Charity Run is hosted by the Knights of Columbus Columbia Council 7559 and the Tanzanian Childrens Project (TCP).TCP is a non-profit organization whose mission is to raise funds for the development of health and education facilities in Tanzania.  Most of the children who will benefit from the proceeds of this race have been orphaned due to losing one or both parents from HIV/AIDS and tropical diseases such as malaria. At least 50 percent of the net proceeds raised from this road race will be used to purchase medical equipment and supplies for the Malowa Medical Dispensary located in the Rombo District of Tanzania.

Money Matters Fair

  • Where:  Howard County Library East Columbia Branch, 6600 Cradlerock Way, Columbia
  • When:  Saturday, April 6, 10 a.m.
  • Description:  Fun activities that teach about how to stretch every dollar.
  • Cost: Free

Timeless Deceptions - A hilarious evening of magic and (alleged) mind-reading

  • Where:  Sheraton Columbia Town Center Hotel, 10207 Wincopin Cir, Columbia
  • When:  Saturday, April 6, 8 p.m.
  • Description:  "Timeless Deceptions" is an evening of magic and comedy, starring Matt and Peter Wood. Limited to just 50 seats, the audience will experience magic up close, and get to participate in feats of the mind. Thought-of objects materialize, playing cards do Peter's bidding, and drawings fly across the stage.
  • Cost:  $27

Searching for Spring Village-Wide Children's Event

  • Where:  Columbia SportsPark, 5453 Harpers Farm Rd, Columbia
  • When:  Saturday, April 6, 10 a.m.
  • Description:  Children between the ages of 2-8 are invited to the “Searching for Spring” event.  There will be crafts, balloons and an egg hunt followed by entertainment with Turner, Dean of Magic.  This is a free event, however advanced tickets are required.  Tickets are available at the village community centers as of March 4. 
  • Cost:  Free – Tickets required.

Foam Rolling - Learning the Basics with Jennifer Coyne

  • Where:  Awaken Wellness, 7130 Minstrel Way, Columbia
  • When:  Saturday, April 6, 1:45 p.m.
  • Description:  Foam rolling is self-massage that can help relieve achy muscles caused by stress, long hours of desk work, and exercise. Stress is a major cause of injury and disease so why not learn to decrease it in order to feel better, increase your immunity and have more energy? Join Jennifer Coyne to learn about how to perform a foam rolling massage.
