Get Out and Plant Something

Looking for something to do this weekend? Here are a few suggestions from in and around Ellicott City.

Where/when: , 300 Oella Ave, Oella, 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.

Why Go: At long last, the Oella area has a community garden. We will be demonstrating how to use recycled newsprint to make seed pots and, there will be nature arts and crafts, guided hikes, a lecture on climate change and presentations about animals and the environment.

Pricing: Free

Where/When: on Friday, April 22, and Saturday, April 23, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Why Go: If you're spring cleaning and wondering what you're going to do with all of your extra stuff, look no further than this community yard sale! Sign up now; the yard sale will be held on Saturday, May 14, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.  

Pricing: $10 for individuals; $20 for vendors with commercial/business products.

Where/When: on Friday, April 22, from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Why Go: Munch on some tasty snacks and enjoy the music of Tres Amigos.

Pricing: Free (but the musicians love donations!)

Where/When: on Saturday, April 23, at 12 p.m.

Why Go: Come out and do some shopping and drop off a toy or book for a needy child.
