Ellicott City Artist Exhibition - Wiley Purkey

  • Where: 8328 Court Ave, Ellicott City - Howard County Historical Society
  • When: Saturday, June 15, 1 p.m.
  • Description: Wiley Purkey has been painting Ellicott City's Main Street since 1969. He's described as "The most well-known artist in the area that no one has ever heard of." This exhibition reintroduces his work, which includes paintings of Agnes' wrath in 1972, boxcars down Main Street, and the evolution of the Historic District.
  • Cost: Free

Columbia Festival of the Arts

  • Where:  Columbia Town Center, Columbia Town Ctr lakefront and various venues, Columbia
  • When:  Saturday, June 14 – Saturday, June 29
  • Description:  A 16-day multidisciplinary outdoor/indoor summer arts festival comprised of both ticketed and free events.

TYA Teen Professionals Present Songs For a New World

  • When:  Friday, June 14, 7:30 p.m. 
  • Description:  Drama Learning Center's teen professional company, TYA, presents its spring musical-- Songs for a New World. With music and lyrics by Jason Robert Brown, Songs for a New World is a story told eponymously through a series of songs running the scope of today’s popular musical styles from folk rock to gospel.
  • Cost:  $17

MiaNaja's Father's Day Bellydance Show

  • Where: Slayton House, 10400 Cross Fox Lane, Columbia
  • When: Saturday, June 15, 6 p.m.
  • Description: This show features belly dancers from Philadelphia, Delaware and New York City. In addition, vendors will be selling homemade jewelry, gifts and chocolates.
  • Cost: $20

Inspired Ghost Tracking

  • Where:  10620 Guilford Rd, Jessup
  • When:  Friday, June 14, 7 p.m.
  • Description:  The purpose of this group is simply to seek answers to the many questions about life after death, ghosts, spirits, and paranormal activity and be able to talk intelligently about it to each other. The group will debunk things we can and consider things we can’t as evidence.
  • Cost: Free

Father's Day Frenzy

  • Where:  821 Frederick Rd, Catonsville
  • When:  Saturday, June 15, 10 a.m.
  • Description:  Music, fun for kids, beer, food, raffles, silent auctions, prizes and gifts throughout the day.
  • Cost:  Free

Village Towns Community Yard/Sidewalk Sale

  • Where:  Ryan Homes, 7108 Maiden Point Pl, Elkridge
  • When:  Saturday, June 15, 7 a.m.
  • Description:  Village Towns, a town home community off route 1, is having their first annual Yard/Side Walk Sale this Saturday, June 15th from 7am-12. 
  • Cost: Free

'80s Zumba Party

  • Where:  Columbia Gym, 6151 Daylong Ln, Clarksville
  • When:  Friday, June 14, 6 p.m.
  • Description:  Celebrate the start of summer with an 80s Zumba® Party, brought to you on June 14 by Columbia Association (CA). The event is being held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Columbia Gym, which is located at 6151 Daylong Lane in the River Hill Village Center.
  • Cost: It is free for CA members and CA team members, and $12 for non-members.

June Dinner Dance Event

  • Where:  Peralynna Manor At Rosehill, 10605 State Route 108, Columbia
  • When:  Friday, June 14, 7 p.m.
  • Description:  Celebrate Father’s Day at a June Dinner Dance Event featuring the RGR - Reilly, Goulait, Rosch Trio performing light rock, soul and popular love songs from the past 50 years. 
  • Cost: $50

Summer Time Yard Sale

  • Where:  Saturday, June 15, 9 a.m.
  • When:  Harwood Park United Methodist Church, 6635 Highland Ave, Elkridge
  • Description:  Community Event indoor / outdoor yard sale. Thrift Store Special marked clearance items "Bag it" for great price of $4.00. 
  • Cost: Free
