Teen Daughter, Boyfriend Indicted in Killing of Ellicott City Blogger

A 14-year old girl is accused of enlisting a 19-year old boyfriend to kill her father, Dennis Lane.

Jason Bulmer and Morgan Arnold, the two teens charged with the killing of Arnold's father local blogger Dennis Lane, were indicted by a Howard County grand jury on Wednesday.

The indictment means their case will be moved from District Court to Howard County Circuit Court and their preliminary hearings will be rescheduled.

Bulmer, 19, and Arnold, 14, both of Ellicott City are being held without bond after being charged with first-degree murder and conspiracy for killing Lane. Police said the teens plotted for over two months to kill Lane and his fiancee Denise Geiger.

In the early morning hours on May 10, police said Bulmer stabbed Lane to death inside his home and that Arnold largely planned the killing. Geiger, who was inside the home, called 911. It was later revealed in charging documents that Arnold asked Bulmer to kill Geiger as well.

As part of the indictiment, Arnold was also charged with two counts of solicitation of murder, for allegedly asking Bulmer to kill both Lane and Geiger.

Arnold's attorney, Joseph Murtha, told the Baltimore Sun that he plans to ask the court to move Arnold's case to juvenile court due to concerns about her mental health and her ability to pariticipate in her defense.
