Round two is coming Tuesday with between three to six inches of snow expected to fall before 2 p.m.

The National Weather Service says the snowfall will be heavy at times, with it beginning as sleet before dawn then changing to snow after the sun rises.

The Howard County Public School System announced schools would be closed Tuesday for the second straight day around 5 a.m. on Tuesday.

This second storm system comes less than 48 hours after the county was hit with between two and four inches of snow on Sunday followed by ice and rain on Monday. The conditions were bad enough that schools closed Monday.

The weather service cautioned drivers to be careful during the morning rush hour, warning that snow could fall as fast as one to two inches per hour.
The storm warning is in effect from 3 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday.
