Walk Raises Funds for Lung Cancer Research

On April 26, LUNGevity Foundation, the nation’s largest organization dedicated to research for the early detection and treatment of lung cancer, is hosting the 2nd annual Breathe Deep Columbia, a 5K Walk in Memory of Dr. Clement B. Knight, starting at the Downtown Columbia Lakefront.

Registration is $25 for adults, $15 for lung cancer survivors, seniors and students, and $10 for youths under 13. To register or make a donation, visit www.lungevity.org/columbia or call 312-407-6100. Proceeds fund research to achieve LUNGevity’s goal to extend and improve survivorship of lung cancer.

Breathe Deep Columbia 5K Walk is the inspiration of Columbia resident Michael Osborne, who was diagnosed with a rare form of lung cancer in April of 2008. Osborne credits his current well-being to his oncologist, Dr. Clement Knight, who passed away in August of 2012.
