Linwood Center Appoints Perini Principal of New School

Linwood Center, which provides programs and services for children and adults living with autism and related disabilities, has hired an educator with local and international experience to head up its new school.  Catherine Perini, a resident of Towson, has served as principal of an international school and as a Special Education teacher for Baltimore City and Baltimore County Schools among other appointments.

Perini has a Master of Arts in Teaching Special Education from Goucher College and a Bachelor of Science in Communications from Towson State University.

“We are thrilled to welcome Catherine Perini to Linwood Center,” said Executive Director Bill Moss.  “Ms. Perini has the background and the passion for education and supporting student success that we were looking for in an administrator to head up the new school,” he added.

In August, Linwood will open a new 36,000 square foot school adjacent to its historic Manor House in Ellicott City.  With a capacity for 70 students, the school will include a non-graded Special Education Program for ages 5-21 and a General Education Program for students in kindergarten through 8th grade.  The school’s hub is a library and a leading edge technology center.
