Return of Hot Weather; Manning to be Sentenced: What's Happening Howard County

Five things to know for Tuesday, Aug. 19.

1. Weather >> The heat returns Tuesday. The National Weather Service predicts a high near 86, and a nighttime low of 67. Fog possible.

2. Teachers return >> School starts next week and on Monday teachers returned to begin preparing for the students' arrival. It's close to the end of summer.

5. Regional news >> Closing arguments took place in the sentencing of Bradley Manning—the army solider who was convicted of leaking confidential information to Wikileaks—at Fort Meade on Monday. The prosecution asked for 60 years while the defense asked for a sentence that would allow Manning "to have a life." The judge is expected to sentence Manning later this week.
