Gorgeous Day and Five-Year Plan for Schools: HoCo Daily 5
Orioles playoff chances and a free square dancing event; five things to know for Tuesday.
1. Weather>> The National Weather Service predicts a spring-like September day, sunny with a high near 69 and a slight breeze.
2.. Five-Year Plan >> Supt. Renee Foose is scheduled to discuss the 5-year plan for Howard County Public Schools on Tuesday night. The meeting will take place at 7:30 p.m. at the Department of Education, 1019 Clarksville Pike (Route 108) in Ellicott City.
3. ICYMI>> Supt. Foose and three Howard County Board of Education members will travel to China in Nov. to learn about the country's education system and culture.
4. Pro Sports Brief>> The Baltimore Orioles open up a three game series in Boston with the Red Sox on Tuesday. The O's are currently two games behind Tampa Bay in the wild card race with 13 games left in the season. The Red Sox are red hot winning eight of their last 10 and just eight games from winning 100 in the season. It'll be an uphill climb for the Orioles to make the playoffs.
5. Event>> Try square dancing for free in Pasadena Tuesday night at Jacobsville Elementary School, 3801 Mountain Road. All ages welcome.
