In 1987\, as president of the St. John&rsquo\ ;s Community Association\, Barbara Sieg along with other Whipps family a nd community members began the restoration of Whipps Cemetery. \; &n bsp\;.  \; \;\nSingers Madrigale from Annapolis\, dressed in per iod costumes\, will start the event strolling through the garden just li ke you would have seen in the 1800s\, followed by their performance. The ceremony will include brief speaks by Delegate Elizabeth Bobo\, and oth er community leaders. \; \; Guided tours\, highlighting the impo rtant elements of the cemetery will be conducted after the program.\nRef reshments will be served. \; With limited parking near the cemetery\ , Master Gardener Jim Pede along with the Boy Scout Troop 944 will direc t traffic and assist by transporting the guests from the First Lutheran Church at Corner of Chatham and Frederick Road to the Cemetery.\nThis he ritage-garden- park cemetery is today maintained by the Howard County&rs quo\;s Master Gardeners and is open to the public daily. The Master Gard ener program is operated by the University of Maryland&rsquo\;s Extensio n Service.
