DESCRIPTION:Howard County Arts Council announces two new exhibits: Reside
 nt Visual Artists Exhibit 2012 and Elements Within: Brenda Townsend-Koll
 man &amp\; Michael Spears.\nIn Gallery I\, Resident Visual Artists Exhib
 it 2012 features recent work created by artists who have studios at HCCA
 : James Adkins\, Joan Bevelaqua\, Carolyn Cates\, Art Landerman\, Diana 
 Marta\, Heidi Praff\, Myungsook Ryu Kim\, Jereme Scott\, Leora &ldquo\;L
 ee&rdquo\; Smith\, Alice St. Germain-Gray\, Andrei Trach\, Jamie Travers
 \, Mary Jo Tydlacka\, and David Zuccarini. The artists work in a variety
  of media including oil and watercolor painting\, drawing\, and glass be
 ad-making. The Gallery II exhibit\, Elements Within: Brenda Townsend-Kol
 lman &amp\; Michael Spears\, showcases ceramicist Brenda Townsend-Kollma
 n&rsquo\;s Raku boxes and painter Michael Spears&rsquo\; mixed-media abs
 tract paintings.\nA free reception for both exhibits will be held on Thu
 rsday\, June 21\, from 6&ndash\;8 p.m.&nbsp\; The resident artists will 
 open their studios for visitors from 7&ndash\;8 p.m. &nbsp\;In participa
 tion with Columbia Festival of the Arts\, All County Improv and What Imp
 rov Group will perform in the black box theatre from 6:30&ndash\;7:30 p.
 m. Both exhibits run through June 22\, 2012.\nGallery hours are Monday t
 hrough Friday 10 a.m. &ndash\; 8 p.m.\, Saturday 10 a.m. &ndash\; 4 p.m.
