DESCRIPTION:The second annual Marshall Legacy Institute&rsquo\;s (MLI) K9
 -9K Walkathon will be held on June 16\, 2012 from 9:30 a.m. &ndash\; 2:0
 0 p.m at Glenelg Country School. This event is open to the public and gr
 eat for families and their dogs of all ages. Registration costs $15 for 
 students\, $25 for adults (children 5 and under are free) and includes a
  t-shirt.\nThe day will feature a 9K walk through Glenelg Country School
 &rsquo\;s 87-acre campus and include fare from local restaurants\, games
 \, raffles\, dog agility courses\, canine massage therapy\, and much mor
 e. Additionally\, MLI&rsquo\;s &ldquo\;canine ambassador&rdquo\; Mine De
 tection Dog (MDD) Utsi\, who served in Eritrea for 6 years\, will demons
 trate her keen sense of smell and show how dogs are able to &ldquo\;snif
 f out&rdquo\; landmines and save lives.\nAll funds raised from this even
 t will go towards sponsoring a life-saving dog that will &ldquo\;sniff o
 ut&rdquo\; landmines in Angola\, Africa. Angola is one of the most heavi
 ly mine-contaminated countries in the world\, affecting more than 2.4 mi
 llion people and the United Nations (UN) estimates that there are more t
 han 70\,000 landmine survivors in Angola.\nTo date\, MLI has provided 17
 2 MDDs to 11 countries and Glenelg Country School has sponsored 2 of the
 m\, MDD Dragon and MDD Country. Both dogs are currently locating mines i
 n Afghanistan. In 2011\, MLI-donated dog teams searched and cleared over
  8.9 million square meters of land in some of the most heavily mine-infe
 sted countries of the world\, thereby making the ground safe for people 
 to work\, children to play and communities to grow.\nTo register for the
