Another waste of money for hoco. Don't we have enough cops to sit by each school 24/7 and use their radars?

I live on Montgomery Rd (route 103) right on Illchester hill across for where a young man lost his life due to speed. I see accidents at all times of the day and night due to excessive speed. I come home to find my lawn torn up and my mail box gone because of the accidents that happen because of the speed on this road. I have been told by officers at the scene of accidents to "shut up about the speeding on this road!". I and my neighbors have first hand witnessed the excessive speeding and accidents while cutting our lawns and doing yard work. You can lay in bed and hear people punch the throttle to fly up and down this hill! We have rendered assistance to the injured and called for emergency personal for these injured. Not only do you need speed cameras at the school zones, but in some residential areas. At times I and my neighbors can hardly get into or out of our driveways without praying, gunning the engines to get into or out of your driveways or side streets. All of my neighbors have been in some sort of accident because of the speed on 103, three serious enough to require hospital visits and new cars! I have to turn my signal on at least a 1/2 mile to a mile to turn into my driveway to slow the idiots down behind me to keep from getting hit! I drive the speed limit an slow down way before I get home just to keep from becoming a statistic!

again, traffic slowing islands and speed bumps, those tools do not rape the middle class of their hard earned money.a photo of a license plate does not slow a speeder down in real time , they find out 10 days later .,an officer with a radar gun does it instantaneously, again, speed bumps and traffic calming islands!the cost of tearing their $40,000 car up on a few cubic yards of asphalt may slow them down or put their drunken corporate butts in the slammer.51mph in a 40 doesnt hurt a child but 52 mph will? gimme a break its a toll and nothing else.

Every speed camera program in the state is currently breaking the law in some way. And every restriction on their use in state law is being broken or rendered meaningless by at least one speed camera program.

I have seen speeders blow through school zones (with yellow lights alit during school hours) without slowing down any more than the 5-10+ MPH they usually travel over the non-school posted limit. I disagree that we have to wait for a body count before acting in the kids' best interest, and I do not pay much attention to the argument that this is all about revenue or the program's legalities. The only way you will capture speeders' attention is to take a bite out of their wallet, and we haven't got enough policemen in HoCo to cover all the schools, all the time, and still cover all the other aspects of their jobs . Bring on the cameras.

The cameras are just a sin tax-they will continue to let someone speed-as long as they are willing to pay for it-find a different alternative

hello Sean, are you the same Sean Collins that represented ACS corporation the day i went to court? I have one question, why did i make a check out for $458.40 to Xerox Corp. if ACS owns the van and who are Gelco Corp.,who in my charging documents i was cited as having destroyed their property.Does anyone really know who owns these vans and where the money really goes?Isnt anyone in the 8th best place to live in the U.S. tired of being lied to? Ill slow down if the local govt quits committing fraud, just tell us the truth you need the $ more than your citizens do!

a speed cam does not slow anyone down ,speed bumps ,traffic calming islands, and police with radar guns making you stop to get the ticket do.1 out of every 10 drivers on the road at any given time are impaired by alcohol or drugs.imagine the revenue they could create if they did not let the speeders just drive on by and get the really dangerous person off the road immediately instead of making them pay a pittance 2 weeks after they could have killed someone.Yes there are drunk and impaired drivers during the day but apparently they have to do harm in order to get taken off the street,do speed cams have breathalyzers? a point two oh only costs 40 bucks at noon on a school day!
