Traffic is down to one lane on the eastbound side of Interstate 70 in Cooksville after a vehicle went off the road at about 2 p.m., according to the State Highway Authority (SHA).

"The eastbound backup is a quarter mile," said Charlie Gischlar, spokesperson for the SHA. "There is a westbound rubbernecking," he added. "Expect delays."

The State Police do have not released any specific information about the incident other than officers were "on scene."

The SHA is helping with the clean-up, Gischlar said, and advisory signs on the highways are alerting motorists from Frederick to Baltimore to expect delays.
