Which Way to the Gun Show?

Looking for something to do this weekend? Here are a few events in and around Ellicott City.

 

SILVERADO GUN SHOW

    Where/When: Howard County Fairgrounds at 210 Fairground Rd. in West Friendship on Saturday, Sept. 17, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

    Why Go: For gun collectors or for those in the market for a new firearm, there will be more than 400 tables at this gun show. Holsters, sights and other merchandise will also be available for purchase.

    Pricing: Adults: $8, seniors (62 years old and older): $6; children (12 years old and younger): free.

    ROCHEFORT EN TERRE SOLO EXHIBITION

      Where/When: Still Life Gallery on Saturday, Sept. 17, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

      Why Go: Matt Klos is exhibiting his work at the gallery and this is the opening reception! You will have a chance to meet the artist (who also lives in the Baltimore area) and view his stunning works of art.

      Pricing: Free.

      OKTOBERFEST TASTING EVENT

        Where/When: The Perfect Pour on Saturday, Sept. 17, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

        Why Go: Fall is just around the corner! Celebrate Oktoberfest just a few weeks early and sample some seasonal brews. Also featured: German wines!

        Pricing: Free

        COMMUNITY FLEA MARKET

          Where/When: Trinity United Methodist Church on Saturday, Sept. 17, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

          Why Go: Vendors and buyers alike are welcome at this monthly flea market! There's a wide variety of items for sale, and there are plenty of buyers for all of your gently-used items.

          Pricing: Free to browse; vendor space: $10

          HFSTIVAL 2011

            Where/When: Merriweather Post Pavilion on Saturday, Sept. 17, at 11 a.m.

            Why Go: The 1990s are alive and well in Columbia! Who can forget the greatest alternative rock station from that era? HFS is back with its yearly festival, featuring local favorites Clutch, as well as the Gin Blossoms, Dr. Dog and others.

            Pricing: Lawn: $35, pavilion: $50
