Two Critical After Saturday Night Shooting in Ellicott City

Police believe the incident at a local nail salon was domestic in nature.

Two people are in critical condition after a shooting Saturday in Ellicott City, according to police.

On Saturday evening, an armed man entered the Nail & Hair Care Spa in the Shipley’s Grant Shopping Center off of Waterloo Road, according to a statement released by Howard County Police spokesperson Bryce Buell.

The man approached a female employee and a male acquaintance, according to the statement, and shot both of them. The suspect immediately left the spa and drove away, according to police.

Both victims were taken to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center and were listed in critical condition as of 10:15 p.m. Saturday, according to the statement.

Police say preliminary evidence suggests the shooting was a domestic incident and are asking that anyone with information call 410-313-STOP. Callers may remain anonymous.
