Teen Arrested for Partying in Vacant Apartment
Police say the 19-year-old broke into a vacant apartment and trashed it.
Howard County police say an Ellicott City teenager was using a vacant apartment as a “party house.”
A person from the Orchard Meadows Apartment leasing office told police that someone had entered the building, on the 3400 block of Sonia Trail, on Nov. 27.
The leasing manager told police that the apartment was “trashed,” reports Howard County Times, and that there was food, empty alcohol bottles and tobacco products in the apartment.
The manager estimated the damages at $5,000.
Police say the teenager entered the building through a smashed window in the main lobby and entered the unlocked apartment. According to police, about 30 minutes after they began conducting surveillance, the teenager entered the apartment.
Police arrested a 19-year-old, who faces third- and fourth-degree burglary, two counts of malicious destruction of property and possession of marijuana.
