Flakes are falling in Howard County.
It may not be a winter wonderland, but the National Weather Service is warning that enough snow has fallen to lead to dangerous road conditions.
And with temperatures set to drop below freezing tonight, the morning commute could be hazardous too if precipitation freezes on the roadways.
The snow is expected to stop falling by about 8 p.m. tonight and NWS is forecasting clear, sunny skies for tomorrow.
Tips for safe winter driving from the State Highway Administration:
- Buckle your seatbelt.
- Take it slow and increase following distance, especially on ramps and bridges, which freeze first.
- Move your foot off the gas if your vehicle starts to skid, and turn the wheel in the direction you're skidding.
