Another high school student has been injured in Howard County. 

A 17-year-old River Hill High School student is in serious condition after being struck by a car while walking to school on Linden Linthicum Lane Tuesday morning, said police.

Matthew R. Curley is in stable condition at the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, according to police.

Police said Curley was struck by a 1998 Honda Accord. 

The driver was traveling westbound on Linden Linthicum Lane around 7:30 a.m. near Little Bells Row. Curley was walking in the crosswalk, according to police.

The driver, who stopped at the scene, and a passenger, were not injured, said police. The accident is under investigation and police say no charges have been filed.

This is the second serious accident in less than a week in Howard County involving a high school student.

In Ellicott City, a Mt. Hebron High School student, Jeffrey Sinclair, 18, remains in critical condition after his vehicle was struck by a Mack Truck as it was leaving the Mt. Hebron High parking lot. Four other students in the car at the time were not seriously injured.
