Report: Ulman Locked out of Superdome

Howard County Executive Ken Ulman was reportedly locked out of the Super Bowl during the power outage at the Superdome.

Howard County Executive Ken Ulman went down to New Orleans to watch the Baltimore Ravens play in the Super Bowl along with his brother Doug Ulman and his father Lou.

Ulman's brother Doug, the CEO of Livestrong, had acquired the tickets, according to Sam O'Neil, an Ulman administration official.

But when the lights went out just after the start of the third quarter, it was Ulman who was out in the dark—he was locked out of the building, according to an Explore Howard report.

Ulman told Explore Howard he had gone outside to call his wife, when the power went out, and the stadium went into lockdown.

"I turned around, the building was dark and they locked the doors," Ulman told the paper. "It was bizarre."

Once power was restored, Ulman was let back into the stadium, according to the article.

Later that night, Ulman also made an appearance on Channel 11 with Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, both of whom were celebrating the Ravens victory on the streets of New Orleans.

If only we could only find a way to lock Ulman out of Howard Co. for the rest of his term.

Glad to read that the county didn't pay for his little "vacation". Wonder if he had to have his bodyguards at the game?

His brother acquired the tickets. Doesn't that sound like an odd turn of phrase? It also doesn't say who paid for transportation. AND if he appeared on TV to celebrate the victory - does that make it a job related trip and on our dime? Just wondering about these things - tha'ts all.

Wow I thought I was the only one in HoCo that felt that way about Ulman. It's nice to have company. Thanks!

Any excuse to be infront of the media. I guess one of his developer friends paid for the trip.
