An Ellicott City man was arrested after police say he left one attempted burglary after being caught by the homeowners only to get caught attempting to burglarize another house.
According to police, on Feb. 21 at about 5:15 p.m. the man rang the bell at a home on the 3200 block of St. John’s Lane. When no one answered, he walked to the back of the house and used a crow bar to pry open a back window. The homeowners were in the house, police said, and the suspect left immediately.

About 45 minutes later, someone reported seeing the same man breaking the back glass window at a house on the 9100 block of East Stayman Drive, according to police.
When officers arrived, they arrested the man, a 25-year-old from Ellicott City who lives less than 7 miles from one of the homes and less than 5 miles from the other.
He faces three counts each of first-, third-, and fourth-degree burglary as well as two counts of malicious destruction of property.
Howard County Police Spokesperson Sherry Llewellyn said police are looking into any possible connections to other residential burglaries.

Thanks for updating me about the address, BT and Wendy. I'll update the article once I sort out where he actually lives. Court records show several addresses, so I'll check with State's Attorney on Monday.
