NWS: Snow is Coming

Snow or rain will start just in time for the evening commute, according to NWS.

Howard County, and much of the central Maryland region, is under a hazardous weather outlook as a storm enters the area this afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) there's a chance of rain and snow before 3 p.m. this afternoon with a high near 41 degrees. A total daytime snow accumulation of less than half an inch is possible.

Tonight is expected to bring snow, mainly before 10 p.m. with a low around 33 degrees according to the NWS.

Thursday will be mostly cloudy with a high near 47 degrees during the day and a low around 31 degrees at night.

Friday is expected to be sunny with a high near 51 degrees.

The Maryland State Highway Administration is also monitoring the storm and advises commuters to plan for a longer trip during peak travel times.

According to a news release, the highway administration is not pre-treating the roads with salt brine because the storm is expected to start as rain and would wash it away.
