Motorcyclist Dies on Route 100
A motorcyclist was killed on Route 100 in Ellicott City.
A motorcyclist died Wednesday night after a collision in Ellicott City, according to officials.
According to Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services Battalion Chief Joe Dixon, rescue crews were called to the westbound side of Route 100 near Route 29 for a report of a collision.
Dixon said crews found a motorcycle and its driver under a vehicle. The motorcycle driver was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Dixon. No one else was transported for injuries, he said.
Wednesday's fatal collision is the second for a Howard County motorcyclist in less than two weeks. On Sunday, May 20, 45-year-old Alan Lynch of Woodbine was killed when his motorcycle collided with a sign post in Marriottsville.

Maybe you should wait a day to learn the name and hometown of the cyclist -- then write the article. Just a thought.

Thanks for the thought, Jay. The reason we write as soon as we know what happened is because people are emailing and calling asking why they heard sirens. So we just want to let them know what had happened.

If it turns out to be the car driver at fault, I want to know if charges are filed. I ride.

He was 25 years old, riding a Kawasaki Ninja, hit the BACK of the car as it was slowing down for slowed traffic due to construction on 29, and was trapped underneath the car.
