Howard County Police Investigate Body (Updated Dec. 9)

Police believe it may belong to a woman reported missing several weeks ago.

Police have identified the body of a woman found Sunday in the woods off of the 9000 block of U.S. Route 1 in Laurel.

According to Howard County police, a man called 911 around 4 p.m. to report that he had seen the body while walking in the woods.

Officials Monday said the body was identified as Staci Marie Watkins, 49, of no fixed address.

Police said in a statement that no foul play is suspected; the cause and manner of death are pending autopsy. The investigation is ongoing.

This story has been updated to include the identity of the woman found.

It's truly an enigma to have homeless people living in one of the most affluent areas of the world.

H.R, I remember a long time ago in Catonsville, a nice older couple befriended a young man who needed some help. They invited him to Thanksgiving dinner with the family. they all ate and when everyone went home, the young man murdered both the man and woman and robbed them. Lesson learned.

In Ellicott City a homeless man whose brother lived on the church property killed two church ladies then himslef...remember? You dont invite them into any home. You give to reputable shelters and hope they take their meds and dont shoot the place up.

Wake up people. It could happen to any of us. I've lived in Ellicott City my whole life & seen it happen to more successful people than you could imagine. Don't move here thinking we live in Fairytail Land.
