Fourth Annual Men's Health Fair Saturday
The free event will feature health screenings and education for men.
Guys, take care of yourselves.
You guys are 24 percent less likely than us gals to have visited a doctor within the past year, according to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
And you're suffering because of it: high cholesterol, diabetes, heart failure -- men are more likely to suffer from complications related to these medical problems simply because they're less likely to visit a doctor.
You can get a jump start on your health this weekend in Howard County.
The fair will feature free screenings for blood pressure, body mass index, kidney health, dental, vision, prostate, pulmonary function, spinal and more.
In addition, snacks will be provided courtesy of Wegmans, La Fiesta and other local vendors, according to Ball.
"My approach is simple," said Ball, "whether you do or do not have health care or simply want to kick-start taking care of your health, this is the place to be. As I see many events geared towards women, our aging population or any other targeted group, it's so important to me to keep this mission alive and promote opportunities that focus on men's health."
The event is open to the public, including women and children and there is no prior registration required. Live entertainment will be provided courtesy of the 92Q Street Team from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. For questions, contact Councilman Ball's office at 410-313-3105.
