Federal Loans Available for Irene Losses
Marylanders without hurricane insurance may qualify in disaster areas.
Maryland residents who don't have hurricane insurance but sustained losses when Irene whipped the state with high winds, heavy rain and flooding may qualify for federally subsidized loans.
Eligibility for these loans is a possibility if the resident is in an area that President Obama declared a disaster zone. These loans are handled by the Small Business Administration.
