A father and two of his sons are in police custody after they allegedly shot at and physically assaulted the boyfriend of the father’s estranged wife in Savage.

Police said Robert Terrance Mobley Jr., 44, his son Robert Terrance Mobley III, 18, and Mobley’s adopted son Kevin Russell, 18, went to the home of the elder Mobley's estranged wife—who is also the 18-year-old Mobley's mother—to confront her boyfriend around 7:45 p.m. on March 19.

When they arrived, the woman called police. The men kicked in a side door and entered the home, with one of the men finding the boyfriend in a second-story bedroom, according to police.

The boyfriend then jumped out the second-story window onto a first-story roof to escape as Russell swung at him with a baseball bat, according to police.

As this was happening, both Mobley men were standing on the first story porch, directly below the roof top where the boyfriend had escaped to, according to police.

Mobley Jr. allegedly then fired four or five rounds from a handgun at the boyfriend while he was on the rooftop, while his son allegedly swung at the man with a club.

The boyfriend was not struck with any bullets, but did sustain minor injuries to his foot from the club as well as from shattered glass, according to police.

The father and sons were able to escape the scene before police arrived but were later located near Kearneysville, WV, where they were arrested by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department.

All three men were charged with attempted first- and second-degree murder, first- and second-degree assault, as well as burglary and firearms charges, according to police.

They are currently awaiting extradition to Howard County.
