Ellicott City Today: August 10

Head into the day a little more informed.

We can expect a sunny, warm day today with high temperatures near 90 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. Temperatures should drop to the low 60s overnight with a few clouds in the sky.

The Ellicott City Farmers Market is today at St. John's Episcopal Church from 2 - 6 p.m. Blackberry and squash harvest should be in full-swing. To find out what else is available, visit the Economic Development Authority's harvest calendar.

Enjoy the weather at an outdoor concert. Tonight at 8:30, Tom Principato plays blues and roots rock at Centennial Park. Bring blankets and a picnic, or rent a boat and watch from the lake. The concert is free, but there's a $3 donation requested for parking. If the weather takes a turn, call 410-313-4451 for schedule changes.

A commission to study the Howard County Board of Education will have its first meeting tonight at 7 in the George Howard Building. The County Board of Education Study Commission will consider concerns expressed by residents about fair representation on the board.
