Joan Eve’s holiday window is classic. Its red ribbons and sparkling jewels suspended from the ceiling won over the judges in the Ellicott City Restoration Foundation’s (ECRF) window decorating contest.

As the winner of the Judges’ Choice contest, the store will receive a one-third page ad in the issues of its choice from Howard Magazine.

Coming in second in the competition is Vintage Bliss. Third place goes to A Journey From JunkTea on the Tiber and Sweet Elizabeth Jane receive an honorable mention.

Judges included Victoria Goodman of Blossoms of Hope; Jackie Panowicz of Custom Media Options; Joan Waclawski of The Business Monthly; Beth Burgess of Howard County Planning and Zoning, and Ed Lilly, ECRF president.

On Jan. 1, the ECRF will announce the winner of the People’s Choice award. Ballots can be found at the Howard County Welcome Center, 8267 Main Street.

Each ballot will also count as an entry form into a contest to win a $75 gift certificate to any restaurant or retail shop in the Historic District.  

First place in the People’s Choice will receive an ad in Howard Magazine; second place ad space inThe Business Monthly, and third place ad space from Howard County Tourism and Promotion.

Ballots must be returned to the Welcome Center by Jan. 2 at 3 p.m.
