Brief Police Barricade Leads Schools to Notify Parents

But a situation in Font Hill was quickly resolved with no injuries.

A suicidal person in the Font Hill neighborhood led police to barricade streets, according to a police spokesperson, but the situation has been resolved and no one was injured.

Several Howard County Public Schools sent out alerts at about 1:30 p.m. notifying parents that the schools were not on "lock-down," but that students and staff were safe at nearby schools, including Centennial High School; Burleigh Manor Middle School and Centennial Lane Elementary School.

By about 2 p.m., according to police spokesperson Sherry Llewellyn, the situation had been resolved without any injuries.

Why was none of this tweeted or published by Patch? Or HoCo?

Patch is too busy reporting about how many gay and lesbian couples have gotten their marriage certificates.

We did publish something ... You just commented on it! The whole ordeal was very short, so by the time we wrote "something's happening" that "something" was over. You must not follow me (@EllicottPatch) on Twitter, or look at our Facebook page either ... hm?

If you follow Howard County Police on Facebook there were a couple updates on the situation posted as well.

Sorry, but I won't sully my hands with the likes of Facebook.

I've received some ridiculous "Breaking News" tweets from Patch in the past. Nothing about this? Shame.

maybe you can just give Brandie your phone number and a list of topics that might interest you.
oh and of course, other topics that you might find "ridiculous" so she wont bother you then.
its not a foolproof system but over time you can fine tune it to suit you better.

Please, don't misunderstand me, I think Ms. Jefferson does an excellent job.

As Brandie wrote above, I need to get with the program and follow her on Twitter.
