An Anne Arundel County man was arrested Tuesday after allegedly robbing a bank in Lisbon and leading police on a chase down area highways, according to the Howard County Police Department.

Dallas Kenneth Jacobs, 44, of 7422 Hawkings Drive in Hanover, has been charged with robbery, theft, fleeing and eluding and other counts related to the chase, police said.

He is being held at the Howard County Detention Center on $75,000 bond.

Jacobs is accused of robbing the Sandy Spring Bank in the 700 block of Lisbon Center Drive.

Police were called there at about 10:55 a.m. Bank employees told officers that a man had come inside, walked up to a teller and displayed a note demanding cash. He did not show a weapon, nor did he imply that he had one, police said.

The man left the bank after the teller gave him cash. Bank employees followed him to the parking lot and got a look at the vehicle he was driving – a bright yellow 2009 Jeep Wrangler-- according to police.

Police also received a description of the suspect: a man wearing a red hat, a long blonde wig, a leather jacket and jeans.

Officers waiting on Interstate 70 then spotted a vehicle matching the description. The Jeep Wrangler was headed east, and the police signaled the car to pull over. But the driver didn't stop, instead leading officers onto eastbound Route 32, police said.

A little bit later the vehicle did stop, and police arrested the man without incident.

Officers searched Jacobs' car and found an envelope with cash from the bank in it, as well as the clothing that bank employees had described, police said.
