Readers' Choice: Great Brunch Spots in Howard County
Mimosas, Cajun shrimp omelettes and French toast with banana, rum and pecan are among the items on the menu in Howard County.
We asked Howard County voters to weigh in on their favorite brunch spots for Mother’s Day this Sunday and the results are in.
Portalli's expects about 300 people for its Sunday brunch buffet, from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. The Main Street restaurant is no longer taking reservations, but will likely have room for smaller parties—up to four people.
Eggspectation does not take reservations. For the shortest wait, the restaurant recommends showing up either before 9 a.m. or after 2 p.m.
At Portalli's, the buffet will include unlimited mimosas or bloody marys, breakfast and brunch standards, and classic Italian lunch items.
Eggspectation will offer its full breakfast, lunch and dinner menu all day. That means dinner for breakfast or breakfast for dinner, if it suits your—and your mother's—fancy.
Victoria Gastro Pub, 8201 Snowden River Parkway, won the Readers' Choice poll in Columbia.
Victoria will be having a Mother's Day brunch menu on Sunday that includes French toast with banana, rum and pecan with vanilla whipped cream; English breakfast served with smoked bacon, maple sausage and Guiness baked beans; Lobster and grits, Victoria eggs benedict served with prosciutto, blue crab and citrus hollandaise, and roasted mushroom and leek scrambled eggs with gruyere potato cake and smoked bacon.
Daniel’s Restaurant and Bar, 5854 Washington Boulevard, was the winner in Elkridge.
For Mother's Day, Daniels is cooking up these specials: Cajun shrimp omelettes and crabcakes eggs benedict. It's serving brunch until 2 p.m. There will be live music on the back deck from Elkridge acoustic band Sam the Old Accordian Man.
No reservations are required. It's first come, first served at Daniels, even on Mother's Day.
