Baby Recliners Recalled, Cited in Infant Deaths
Four retailers and the Consumer Product Safety Commission are participating in a voluntary recall of the Nap Nanny recliner following five infant deaths.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and four retailers are participating in a voluntary recall of the Nap Nanny recliner following five infant deaths and more than 100 reports of children falling out or nearly falling out of the item.
Amazon.com, Buy Buy Baby, Diapers.com and Toys R Us/Babies R Us and participating in the recall. Recalled models—all produced by Baby Matters, LLC—include Nap Nanny Generations One and Two and the Chill infant recliners.
"CPSC is warning parents and caregivers that these baby recliners contain defects in the design, warnings and instructions, which pose a substantial risk of injury and death to infants," the CPSC said in a statement.
There was an initial recall of the product in 2010 after one child died and several other fell out or nearly fell out, according to CPSC. Although there have been several upgrades and warnings added to the recliners, CPSC has continued to recieve reports of child injury and death as a result of using the product, leading to the second recall.

Routine Infant Circumcision kills 117 babies a year in the USA alone.... Why isnt that "recalled"? Your son is more likely to get breast cancer than any penile cancers or diseases that circumcision claims to prevent. Unbelievable. .... www.wholenetwork.org....
