Christine Towne Wins Leadership Award

Ellicott City resident Christine Towne, an administrative assistant for The Arc of Howard County, was presented the Individual Leadership award at the Howard County Commission on Disability Issues’ annual honors ceremony.

The awards recognize individuals and organizations who are change agents for full participation in community life for all. 

Towne was recognized for her achievements and work as an advocate representing the needs of the disability community.  She is an officer of the self-advocacy group, People Power, and an appointed member of the Maryland Commission on Disabilities.  She attends college and is involved in musical theatre and horseback riding.  Towne participates in Special Olympics.
