Announcement: St. Paul School: Art Under the Stars

St. Paul School hosted its second annual Cultural Arts Evening, Art Under the Stars, which showcases the artistic talents of the students.

The art on display was skillfully and meticulously created by the talented budding artists at Resurrection-St. Paul School over the course of the past seven months.  Many of the works were inspired by great masters, such as Picasso, Cezanne, Modigliani, and van Gogh.

Other pieces primarily focused on achieving the mastery of skills such as shading or perspective or understanding the complexities of color mixing.

Many creations on display demonstrated the artists expression of who they are and how they feel through the exploration and experimentation of different media and subject matter.

“This is a treasured night at Resurrection-St. Paul School,” says Wendy Cottrell, assistant principal at Resurrection-St. Paul School.  “It is a time when we come together to celebrate students’ individual artistic abilities using the many gifts with which God has blessed each of them.”

Two pieces of artwork from all students were displayed. The evening also included poetry readings, drama presentations, musical performances, photography, a puppet show, Lego exhibit, scrapbooking display, digital art, two Zumba dances and much more.

Resurrection-St. Paul School, a National Blue-Ribbon School of Excellence and Archdiocesan  STEM school is a fully accredited Pre-Kindergarten through Eighth grade Catholic school located on a 22-acre campus in Ellicott City, Maryland.
